The Career Progression Fellowship (CPF) scheme

In recognition of the outstanding post-doctoral researchers at the John Innes Centre we have created a new category of institute support for post-doctoral career development. The aim of the CPF is to provide career development resources to post-doctoral researchers who have demonstrated substantial scientific momentum and outstanding potential but require additional time to publish key papers and/or apply recently acquired skills and insights to a new problem, thereby substantially strengthening subsequent Independent Fellowship applications. Applicants are required to demonstrate their ability to conceive and deliver front rank science independently and if successful receive a salary for up to two years.

The CPF provides the opportunity to initiate a new line of research for example applying recently acquired skills and insights to a new research problem or to consolidate and/or exploit a recent breakthrough as a platform for developing an exceptionally strong independent fellowship application to be held at JIC.
